Cyclone Remal intensified into a "severe" cyclonic storm (wind speeds 85-95km/hr) in the Bay of Bengal.
Landfall expected around midnight Sunday between Sagar islands, West Bengal and Khekupara, Bangladesh.
Kolkata airport to suspend flights till 9 am Monday and some Howrah-Singur trains cancelled.
Storm surge of about one meter above tide expected in low-lying areas during landfall.
Cyclone Remal located 290 km south-southwest of Khepupara, Bangladesh. Extremely heavy rainfall expected in parts of West Bengal till Monday.
